SMALL Sport Shorty Ball Me Luna Menstrual Cup
The MeLuna Sport is our firmest menstrual cup and is 25% firmer than MeLuna Classic. If pressed together, you can feel the force with which it springs back immediately. This 'springiness' ensures that the Sport cups can unfold perfectly even with strong pressure of the surrounding muscles and keep a tight seal even during more intense activities where a softer cup may collapse and leak.
This is recommended for users involved in physical activities that require a lot of core muscle engagement. You don't have to be doing the sport whilst wearing the cup in order to need the Sport cup. You will need the Sport cup any time, if you have strong pelvic floor muscles.
MeLuna Sport is designed for users involved in very active pursuits. Some sports and exercises have a strong effect on the pelvic floor muscles. Particularly noteworthy are: yoga, horseriding, Pilates, Kegel Exercise, martial arts, pole dancing, etc.
The sport is a good choice for users who are very active and have experienced leaking with a softer cup.
The SHORTY Cups are 30% shorter than normal menstrual cups. They are designed for women who need shorter cups due to their gynecological conditions, such as:
- by women who have a very low cervix during menstruation
- by women who have a very short vaginal canal
- by women who have a prolapsed uterus
A menstrual cup must be easy to insert and then unfold fully inside the vagina. Only then will it work perfectly and form a proper seal. Pressure from the surrounding muscles must not prevent the menstrual cup from unfolding. A menstrual cup should not remain pressed flat under any circumstances. The material must therefore have a certain amount of tension. Being able to insert and position a menstrual cup quickly and simply is also something that many users really appreciate. This is another reason why a menstrual cup must have enough tension.
However, it goes without saying that the cup should not feel uncomfortably hard for you. A menstrual cup should create no sensation of pressure whatsoever.
When inserted, and provided your cup fits and is in the correct position, you will not feel a thing. You will only feel a sensation of pressure if the cup is not sitting correctly and is too big for you. The degree of softness is not to blame in this case, but the dimensions of the menstrual cup.
The Me Luna Small is one of the smallest menstrual cups worldwide. If you are a slim, petite build, under 170cm (5'5) , had no vaginal births, have light menstrual flow, then the Small could be the right cup for you. If you are heavier, have had vaginal births, you may still suit the Me Luna Small, if your pelvic floor muscles are strong (like if you do Pilates or are very fit generally). Example: Kerry is 5'5, slim build, small frame, had no vaginal births and has a very heavy flow. She uses the Me Luna Classic Small.
Joanna is 5'3 medium build and had no vaginal births. She uses the Me Luna Classic Small. If she was heavier, she might need the Medium.
Kate is 5'4, slim build, and has had two vaginal births. She does regular Pilates, so her pelvic floor muscles are strong. She uses the Small Classic cup. If she hadn't done the Pilates, she would need the Medium.
