Natural Mega Pad - Organic Cotton Reusable Maternity Pad Very Heavy Flow Pad

Natural Mega Pad - Organic Cotton Reusable Maternity Pad Very Heavy Flow Pad

Made from undyed organic cotton velour, which will dry quickly for you, without losing any softness or performance. The Mega pad has 100% organic cotton velour on top, two layers of 100% organic cotton fleece stitched inside and a removable insert/ booster of a further two layers of 100% organic cotton fleece. That makes five thick layers. The whole pad is lined with waterproof PUL, and all backed with 100% organic cotton jersey. The double poppers prevent sideways slippage, and the open slit at the bottom lets you stuff in more boosters if needed (not usually needed, even for the heaviest flows).

Machine wash up to 60'. These pads are very big - only buy them if you are sure that's what you need! These are ideal if you are a UK trouser size 14 or above and have a very very heavy menstrual flow. Shown here in size 24 undies to help give you an idea of the size.

The Mega pad is ideal for extremely heavy flow - post partum bleeding, menopausal flooding, very very heavy periods, etc. It also makes a good incontinence pad for full gushes.

Weak Bladder / Incontinence Rating: 7/8 - low bladder control, heavy urge incontinence, but it won't take a full bladder

Pure comfort

A beautifully soft pad. While it's very large, it's so so comfortable and reassuring to wear.

My mother and I care for my grandmother, who has fairly severe urinary incontinence, and having got very dismayed at the huge number of disposable pads we were sending to landfill, we decided to try getting her to use your biggest megapads instead. With one extra insert, one pad can keep her dry all day on a good day, and she is now only using disposables at night, which has cut her used pad output by about 80%, and we're working up to using them at night too. We have also discovered that they work best without the poppers done up underneath, as being a larger lady, the extra width of the wings gives her more coverage, and the pads stay put anyway, which is great.

I suffer from both stress incontinence and an irritable bladder which
necessitates the constant wearing of pads. Unhappy with the cost both
financially and environmentally I looked for an alternative to
disposables that would be comfortable, washable and affordable. I bought
a Mega Pad just to try out and I just wish I had bought it long ago. It
is very comfortable next to the skin (no chaffing - bliss) and the
'nappy rash' I had has disappeared. I have saved myself lots of money,
helped our planet and no longer need to feel embarrassed having to buy
disposables in shops. Thank you so much for an excellent product, please
contact me when there are some more in stock' Chris

Although I bought some mega pads which are the largest pads available and are advertised to be effective for urinary incontinence, I've been using them and have found them ineffective. They are not able to absorb the leaks properly, let alone a full bladder.
Also, they are too expensive for what they are.

I am sorry to hear you haven't been satisfied with the Mega pad. It sounds like you must have near total urinary incontinence, which this pad is not designed for (and it does say in the listing that it won't take a whole bladder). The Mega pad was designed for the heaviest menstrual flow, and in 15 years we have never heard of it being unable to cope with menstrual flooding. We do have plenty of customers who love the Mega pad for weak bladder issues, but it sounds to me like your leaks are just too much for it, and perhaps you should be looking at specifically designed incontinence nappies. We are experts in menstrual flow pads, and although large numbers of our customers use them for weak bladder leaks, they are not designed specifically with that in mind. I do hope you find something to suit your needs.

Fabulous for the first wear only.

I didn't realise the inner insert wasn't fixed in. It tangled up while in the wash and it's impossible to get back in place. The shape of the pad (while effective and correct) means you just can't get your hand in to straighten out the insert. The back end of the pad is not open so you can't even pull it straight at both ends. Really not very good. I feel like whoever invented this, didn't fully test it.

So sorry to hear you had this problem with the Mega Pad. I think it may be an issue to do with the size of your hands (weird as that may sound!) or maybe you got a pad that was sewn a little tighter than others, or maybe a combination of the two. Please do take a look on the listing page where there is a video showing you how to put the insert back in place. I will dm you with further help
